Meet Danielle

Hi, I am Danielle — the curator behind Southern Novelscents.
If you're anything like me, then you know books have a way of finding us exactly when we need them. Sometimes they're an escape. Sometimes they're comfort. Sometimes they remind us that even in our darkest moments, there's still hope waiting on the next page.

That's what books have always been for me.

Long before Southern NovelScents existed, I was simply someone who loved getting lost in a good story. I fell in love with the unforgettable characters, the worlds authors created, and the way a book could make you laugh, cry, or completely forget about the day you were having.

In 2020, I decided to combine two things I loved: books and fragrance.

What started as a simple idea quickly became something so much bigger than I ever imagined.

Today, Southern NovelScents is an officially licensed home fragrance company, creating handcrafted candles, wax melts, diffusers, and Room & Linen Sprays inspired by the stories readers never want to leave behind. Every fragrance is carefully blended with the hope that when you light a candle or melt a wax melt, you're transported right back into the pages of your favorite book.

But if I'm being honest, this business has never really been about candles.
Life has a way of changing us.

Over the years, I've experienced grief, loss, unexpected challenges, and seasons that tested me in ways I never saw coming. I've balanced a full-time career while building this business, cared for family through difficult times, and learned that sometimes the strongest people are simply the ones who keep putting one foot in front of the other.

Through every season, Southern NovelScents became more than my business.

It became my creative outlet.

It became my therapy.

It became proof that even when life doesn't go according to plan, beautiful things can still grow.

One of the greatest blessings this journey has given me has been this incredible community.

What started as customers quickly became friendships. We've celebrated new book releases together, cried together, laughed together, and supported one another through some of life's biggest moments. That sense of community is something I'll never take for granted because it's the heart of everything we do.

As Southern NovelScents continues to grow, my dreams continue to grow with it.

In the coming years, you'll see workshops, educational resources, courses, and behind-the-scenes content designed to help others build something they're proud of. Not because I believe I've mastered it all, but because I believe we're all better when we learn from one another.

If sharing my journey can encourage someone else to take that first step toward their own dream, then every challenge along the way has been worth it.
